For a college student who's been taking finals all week, what a better way to conclude the week than seeing Mary and Hov in concert. The show began with both speaking in a video recording, they would start off performing "Can't Knock The Hustle" from Jay's Reasonable Doubt album. After that, Jay left the stage and Mary would run through her range of hits. She really took it back to the 90s during her performance. Mary really made strong connection with the women in attendance, all of the girls sitting around me were jamming through every song and the love could definitely be felt. That was fine with me, but I'm a Jay fan, so I was waiting for him to return to the stage to rip it.

When Mary was done with her portion of the show, Jay re-emerged to the sounds of "Say Hello" from his latest album, American Gangster. He was accompanied by a live band and would run through "I Know", his verse from Beyonce's "Upgrade U", "U Don't Know", "99 Problems" and many others. I hadn't seen Jay in concert in a few years so it was crazy to me, especially when he performed "Public Service Announcement" from The Black Album. He performed "Blue Magic" and at the "Fuck Bush" part of the song went into a little political campaigning of his own. He performed "Minority Report" acappella then exercised his freedom of speech; promoting change as an image of Barack Obama was displayed behind him.

Jay ran through more hits, even at one point going over to his dj teasing the crowd with some of hits from over the years. Mary would return to the stage to perform "Heart of the City" from Jay's The Blueprint album, then they closed with their latest song together for the tour "You're Welcome". Overall, it was a great show, very exciting (loud fireworks), good lighting and very positive. Should've been there.
